Zero-Sum Social Policy: Going Gig and the Australian National Disability Insurance Program

Today we feature a paper that Dr. Donna Baines (University of Sydney) presented at our conference in Berlin titled, "Zero-Sum Social Policy: Going Gig and the Australian National Disability Insurance Program". Authored with Dr. Fiona Macdonald (RMIT University), a discussion unfolds on the disability rights movement and views on disability as socially constructed. Baines and Macdonald unpack gig labour markets by exploring the "zero-sum game precipitated by social policy aimed at expanding human rights". Their paper focuses on the context of marketized care and the individualization of service users.
