Urban Politics after the Crash

(Un)Governability in the Crisis of Neoliberal Globalism

Jun 30, 2020

Good morning #AltAusterity readers! This week we bring you a presentation from Dr. Jonathan Davies (De Montfort University) titled, "Urban Politics after the Crash: (Un)Governability in the Crisis of Neoliberal Globalism". Jonathan presented his talk at our February workshop earlier this year in Hamilton where he taught us about collaborative governance under austerity.

His work is an exploratory study of how cities govern and contest austerity, and he takes on a state-civil society perspective. You can find his paper under 'Spending, Reform, and Marketization'.

If you are interested in learning more about exploring governability or other parts of Jonathan's work, check out his faculty page, here: https://www.dmu.ac.uk/about-dmu/academic-staff/business-and-law/jonathan-davies/jonathan-davies.aspx

We'll post new content every other Tuesday morning and our AltAusterity Digest Friday mornings. To keep up with our work, you can subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Twitter @AltAusterity and join the #altausterity conversation!
