Conceived in Austerity

On this fine day we bring you a presentation by Dr. Carlo Fanelli (York University) that he presented at the third AltAusterity conference this past February in Berlin, Germany. Carlo neatly unpacks how municipalities are unable to meet their revenue requirements and how this inability is rooted in both constitutional realities that for us seem quite dated, and also the "neoliberal policies of revenue erosion that have reduced fiscal capacities".

He suggests that this method is used to demonize workers and the users of urban public services.
