Corporate Tax in the UK

Tax expert Alex Cobham, Director at the Tax Justice Network (TJN) discusses the relationship between austerity and corporate taxes in the UK.

Jul 18, 2017

On this fine Tuesday we feature Alex Cobham, Director at the Tax Justice Network (TJN) in the United Kingdom. We've uploaded a presentation Alex gave at our workshop in 2016 where he discussed the relationship between austerity and corporate taxes in the UK. An exemplar of a 'liberal market' approach to growth, the UK aggressively cut spending as well as corporate tax rates in response to the 2008 economic crisis. Alex's presentation sheds light at the extent of tax and spending cuts, as well as their effects.

You can find the full presentation on our Research Page under 'Taxation & Revenue'! Stay tuned for the full paper from Alex Cobham in the coming weeks.
